The Farm

We love our animals!  They are such a part of our family.  Even my teenage children thank God for our animals in every prayer they say.  I feel extremely blessed to raise my children in this kind of world.  They get to experience so many creations that most people never even notice.  Each of our animals have such distinct personalities, and they make us laugh every day.  They are a very real part of our life.

This is Mini, our bantam chicken.  She is such a sweetheart and allows any visitor to tote her around like she is a kitten.  She also loves to catch free rides on the goats back whenever possible.  Baby, our fainting goat, is such a sport and allows her to spend hours perched on his back.  He has also become fascinated with eating Christy's hair.  Everytime we are out back I hear her yelling, "NO, Top (stop) Baby!"  She pushes him around even though he is bigger than she is.  She will have no fear of animals as she ages.

I love the cute faces on pigs.  They just melt my heart.
Packer and Christy playing in the barn after we got it all cleaned out and filled with new hay.  I wonder why I always find hay all over my house?!  I swear Christy always has hay or dirt in her hair and diaper.

Our nigerian dwarf babies, sisters; Elsa and Anna. They are so fun.  Anna, the black and white one,  thinks she is a human and wants to be right with me every time I go outside.  I think she would follow me inside if I would let her.  Christy thinks they are the best playmates...and they are!  If you have never had a chance to play with baby goats you are missing out on one of the most entertaining experiences in life.

Penny, the pig was just days away from delivery!  Her belly rubbed on the ground she was so HUGE!!
Christy laying in the chicken coop while Penny was in labor.  She hunkered down and pretended to take a nap.  It was super cute.

More waiting for Penny to have her babies.  Christy was enthralled with the whole process.  The stethoscope was a hit!

Below: Christy feels that part of her job everyday is to feed the animals.  She also feels that it is her job to eat alongside the animals.  I cannot convince her that animal feed and their dirty water is unsanitary.  She has the best antibodies ever!!

Spook, our silky fainting goat, sporting his handsome Easter ears.  He is a sport.  He is getting kind of old and is such a funny animal.  He has a HUGE belly, and every time people come to visit the farm they ask when the babies are due.  That must be humiliating for the poor guy!  I have to explain that HE is not having babies, and that he just really likes food...a lot...
 Feeding time!
Our first teacup baby pigs...HEAVEN!

Below:  Christy patiently waiting for Penny to deliver her babies.  We watched her for 8 hours before they came.  Christy sat there saying, "Oh, Penny...Oh, Penny."  She didn't know what was going on but knew her Penny Pig was sick and she was so worried for her.

Adele, the lamb, was the only animal brave enough to brave the cold.
